Prof. Manipadma Datta

Professor Manipadma Datta is in academics for last four decades. He is the former Vice Chancellor of the Teri Institute of Advanced Studies (TSAS), New Delhi, a deemed university under UGC and a premium institution of higher education and research in the country. He is now the senior-most Professor of the University and belongs to the Department of Policy and Management Studies. Before joining TSAS in 2011, Prof Datta served as a Professor, Dean and Research Centre Chairman, Visiting Professor and Area Head in institutions of eminence like University of Calcutta, Vidyasagar University, Nirma University, Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad, Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, International Institute of Management Delhi, JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur in India and Vrije University at Brussels, Belgum. Professor Datta’s areas of interest include Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Corporate Finance, Accounting Information System, Strategic Leadership, Corporate Governance, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, ESG Financing, Public Policy and Management and the like. He is the standing Chair of the International Conference of Business, Economics and Sustainable Development (ICBESD), an annual international event of TSAS since 2018. Prof. Datta has an outstanding track record of supervising and evaluating PhD theses. He has till date successfully guided seven PhD scholars and remains thesis evaluator for many eminent institutions in India and abroad. He is a regular contributor to national and international refereed journals and is on their editorial boards. His PhD scholars are working in academics, research and corporate world. He has to his credit more than fifty research papers in refereed journals and international anthologies published by Springer, Routledge, Bloomberg, Palgrave Macmillan and IGI Global. Bloomberg published his edited title in 2020, ‘Business, Economics and Sustainable Development’, an edited volume with contributions from India and abroad. He is also a regular speaker on Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Corporate Finance, Public Management, Accounting Information System, Strategic Leadership, Corporate Governance.
