NTPC School of Business and World Energy Council of India organised India’s First Global Energy Think-Tank Webinar “Tracking Global Clean Energy Transitions during the COVID-19 Crisis” on Friday, July 31st, 2020. The speaker of this magnificent webinar was Mr. Dave Turk, Acting Deputy Executive Director, International Energy Agency (IEA), Paris.
Mr Dave Turk joined the IEA in September 2016 and is currently the Acting Deputy Executive Director and Head of the Strategic Initiatives Office. He formerly served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Climate and Technology at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he coordinated the Department’s international clean energy efforts. He also previously served as Deputy Special Envoy for Climate Change at the U.S. Department of State, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Congressional Affairs at the U.S. National Security Council, and in various capacities in the U.S. Congress.
Shri A K Jha former CMD and Director Technical of NTPC moderated the webinar. Shri A K Jha has been also Member of MP Electricity Regulatory Commission. Presently, he is a Member of the Global Expert Advisory council of International Solar Alliance. Shri Jha is a Mechanical Engineer and also a law graduate, has more than 42 years of experience in all areas of the power plant, was conferred with CBIP Award for outstanding contribution in thermal Power sector development in 2016. Mr. Jha is credited with leading NTPC’s initiative in the area of Renewable Energy in a big way and pioneering the introduction of floating solar plants in India with the development of indigenous floater design in collaboration with CIPET.
Prof./Dr.Mohan Lal Agarwal hosted the webinar. Dr. Aggarwal was the Professor of Marketing & Chair, Center for Marketing Energy Innovations at NTPC School of Business, , US Fulbright Scholar, Senior Professor at IIMs & XLRI Jamshedpur and many other leading business schools of India, USA, Australia, Dubai, Denmark, and Canada.
